A Reminder to Love Yourself (Valentines Day)
A Reminder to Love Yourself!
Valentine's Day is celebrated annually on February 14th. Many people celebrate this day spending special time with the ones they love. Or by expressing love and appreciation for the people in their lives. They do this by sending cards, messages of love or by buying gifts often consisting of candy, flowers and jewelry or sharing a romantic dinner.
But what about self-love. Self love isn't narcissistic or selfish. It is a journey and it takes time. It is about building a healthy relationship with yourself. You need to nurture that relationship, get to know and accept yourself for who you are now and who are are becoming. You need to learn to honor, value, forgive, listen to and care for yourself. That is what self-love means to me. When you learn to love and respect yourself you create healthy lasting loving relationships with others.
Also, instead of setting aside one special day of the year, why not spread kindness, love, joy, happiness, compassion and forgiveness to yourself and others everyday!
Mantra: I love and accept myself unconditionally. I am worthy and deserving of love.
